Carl graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS degree in Industrial Education. Carl has his FAA - Airframe & PowerPlant Mechanic License, FCC - 1st Class License with Ship Radar Endorsement, and is a Certified Energy Manager.

Remote Control Construction Toys Give Kids of Every Age RC Playtime Opportunities

There's no age limit barring the fun that remote control construction toys offer. No matter how young or old you are, starting the construction project your inner kid dreamed up in your mind is only a couple of button pushes away.

The variety of radio control construction equipment available for your pleasure brings the ability to duplicate any construction site activity you see in the real world on an RC scale. You only need to plan the activity on paper so you have a blueprint to follow from beginning to completion.

The number of construction projects available for your planning activities are numerous. What do you want to build today?

How about a single high-rise apartment building, or a skyscraper reaching toward the clouds? Make a design of, and layout, an entire residential neighborhood with different housing styles, roads, sidewalks, even a fire hydrant on every corner.

Construct a sprawling city that stretches out across your back yard. Don't forget to plan for office buildings, parking garages, houses, apartment buildings, banks, fire stations, utility service buildings, hospitals, roads, sidewalks - all the various structures you see in every city.

Don't have a back yard, or enough space to stretch your city out? Think about how to erect your city upward, and create a futuristic city on multiple tier levels. You'll include all those buildings, roads, and sidewalks that any city must include, and you'll have a more complex, and interesting project to design and build.

Speaking of that back yard, how would you like a miniature golf course? Draw up the plans, power up the RC construction toys, and build one for yourself.

Let your imagine run wild. Better yet ask your kids and grandkids for help. They'll have a grand time playing with you on any project you all choose, and the ideas they dream up are often beyond amazing.

Once you have an idea of what construction project you'll work put it all on paper so you have a drawing of the systematic process to follow.

When you're ready to start operating the radio control construction equipment you'll start with the excavators. Use them to dig your foundations, and start leveling the ground on which you'll perform the construction tasks.

With the front loaders move the excess dirt that the excavators piled up to the dump trucks for hauling away, and then use the loaders to perform the fine leveling job.

Haul in the building materials with a semi-trailer truck, off load them with the forklifts, and move them into position with the RC cranes.

Remote control toy projects promise hours of fun for the kid that lurks inside you eager to leap to the surface for some playtime.

And just think about all the excitement and pleasure you'll get from your children's smiling faces.

Put Your Remote Control Construction Equipment to Work on This Fun Winter Project

Parts of the country got buried in snow over the past few days. Here in Indianapolis Mother Nature was nice to us. We only got a couple of inches. Still, that's enough snow to tickle my gray matter into creating a project you can use for playing with your remote control construction equipment.

RC construction toys aren't just for building things you know, and this plan promises hours of fun for radio control construction hobbyists. It's a snow removal activity that makes you laugh with pleasure, rather than sweat from bending over a shovel.

You don't need much snow to perform this project because even as little as an inch of snow is enough to put your different construction toys to work.

You'll want to include a walking path from your door to the mailbox and driveway, the driveway itself, the sidewalk, and any other paths you normally travel along at your home.

First you'll need to clear an area for depositing all the snow you move out of your way. You'll want a space large enough to maneuver your dump trucks, and big enough for dumping all the snow those trucks haul for you.

Start removing the deeper snow with your RC excavators. Just like digging to prepare an area for the foundation of a building, dig the deep snow a bucket at a time. Continue this effort until the snow is shallow enough that the excavators can no longer fill their buckets without digging into the ground beneath.

As you grab each excavator bucket with snow place it into the dump trucks so they can haul it to your deposit area. When each truck bed is full of snow drive the truck to your dumpsite, and drop the snow off out of your way. Another excavator working at the deposit site can pile the snow to provide more room for the dump trucks to do their job.

While those trucks are off dumping their loads keep on working with the excavators at the work site, piling snow off to the side, and progressing towards your snow removal destination. Later you can return to these piles, and remove them too.

Once you have the snow cleared as far as the excavators can dig bring in the loaders and continue your removal project. Pick up the rest of the snow along your path into the buckets, and deposit each full bucket into the dump trucks for hauling to the dumpsite. Continue this remote control construction operation until your path is clear of snow, and you have access to every spot you want to reach.

Next fill the dump trucks with ice-melting chemicals to distribute along the paths you just cleared. Use the front loaders to scoop the chemicals from the trucks, and spread them along the path so no ice forms, and nobody slips and falls, injuring him or herself. Use the excavators for scooping the chemical from the truck to the loader to give yourself more RC playtime if you like.

Give yourself a break. Don't sweat over a shovel, grunting and heaving that snow out of your way.

Use this remote control construction project, and turn that snow removal job into a game.

Construction For Climate Control

We need to construct for climate control because comfort requires more than just providing warmth in winter and coolness in summer. True comfort means a correct temperature, correct humidity, or amount of moisture in the air, and clean, fresh, odorless air. The achievement of this ideal comfort, or air conditioning, is achieved through the use of a heating system, a cooling system, air filters, and humidifiers. Climate control construction plans show systems of maintaining specific degrees of temperature, amounts of moisture, and the exchange of odorless air.

Many different systems can be used to heat and cool a building. The effective use of insulation, ventilation, roof overhang, caulking, weather stripping, and solar orientation helps to increase the efficiency of any climate control system.

Heating and cooling systems

Heating
1. Radiation - In radiation, heat flows to a cooler surface through space in the same way light travels. The air is not warm but the cooler object it strikes becomes warm. The object, in turn, warms the air that surrounds it.
2. Convection - In convection, a warm surface heats the air about it. The warm air rises and cool air moves into to take its place, causing a convection current.
3. Conduction - In conduction, heat moves through a solid material. The denser the material, the better it will conduct heat. Example is, iron conducts heat better than wood.

Insulation is a material used to stop the transfer of heat. It helps keep heat inside in the winter and outside in the summer. In an imperfectly constructed house, cracks around doors, windows and fireplaces can combine to make the equivalent of a hole of sufficient size to lose all internal heat in less than an hour. Weather stripping and caulking can prevent this heat loss.

Heating devices:
1. warm-air units
2. hot-water units
3. steam units
4. electric heat

Cooling
A building is air-conditioned by removing heat. Heat can be transferred in one direction only. A central air-conditioning system absorbs heat from the house and transfers it to a liquid refrigerant, usually freon. Warm air is carried away from rooms through ducts to the air-conditioning unit where a filter removes dust and other impurities

Cooling units - The cooling unit can be part of the heating unit using the same blower, vent, and perimeter ducts. In this kind of system, the cool air rises against the warm walls in the summer and cools the house. The average small house can be comfortably cooled with central air-conditioning units.
