The Marching Source - Basic Drill #2, Medium Sized Band

www.themarchingsource.com This is an example of a novice/basic drill written for a medium sized band. The holds are arbitrary in length for the sake of this sample. Smart construction creates variety and interest yet keeps the skill needed by the performers at a novice to basic level. The first move features percussion with the winds following the leader, then turning forward to play. The guard or front unit has a strong stage, but this can easily be adjusted for a more secondary role. Note the guard's turn backfield to expand and fill the field, followed by a return turn forward.
