HYANNIS, MA- Teen accused of killing uncle in Hyannis (10-01-09)
HYANNIS A Southboro teen was arrested and arraigned this afternoon on charges he murdered his uncle, who was discovered last night at his Ripple Cove Road vacation home. Christopher Manoloules, 17, was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on charges of murder and attempting to commit armed robbery, stemming from the apparent killing of his uncle, Aris Manoloules, 47, a Framingham resident, who was found dead in his Hyannis home. Investigators at the Cape and Islands District Attorney's office declined to comment today on the nature of Manoloules' death or any possible motive, although they labeled the death suspicious last night and immediately launched a criminal investigation. A not guilty plea was entered on Christopher Manoloules' behalf this afternoon in court, and he was held without bail. The investigation is continuing and could result in further arrests in the coming days, Cape and Islands Assistant District Attorney Matthew Kelley said during the arraignment. He then asked that the police report in the case be kept sealed either until the suspect's next court hearing on Nov. 5 or until another suspect is arraigned. In court, the Kelley said he expects another person to be charge with the crime.
