Optical Sorting - Wood Recycling - C & D - Sherbrooke OEM

Recuperation JM Langlois recycling facility located in La Prairie, Quebec, Canada, may resemble any other transfer station. Trucks come in every day and discharge Construction and Demolition debris on the tipping floor, the material is then processed on a sorting system where recyclable material is then separated from the waste stream. However, in operation since 2008, this facility has proven to be like no other it has been integrated with a fully automated line led by an optical sorting unit. Eagle Vizion in partnership with the engineers at Sherbrooke OEM Ltd have developed an optical sorting unit conceived especially for the Construction and Demolition industry. "We receive on average over 100 trucks per day. Last year, we processed 125 000 tons of Construction and Demolition debris." says Denis Tisseur, Operation Manager at Recuperation JM Langlois The material stream goes through a series of equipment complementing each other prior to the optical sorting unit. Material conditioning is mandatory to the efficiency of the unit. Tisseur says:"Preparing the material is essential to the efficiency of the optical sorting unit." The waste is introduced to a primary screen which separates the waste into two streams; Overs and Unders. The Overs are elevated to a picking station where recyclables are manually sorted. The Unders are transferred to a magnet where the steel is removed from the stream. The remains are fed onto a star screen screening the fine material followed by ...
